The Difference Between Wired and Wireless Internet Connections
Many people don't understand what wireless internet is. It is not "built into" the computer. The ability to connect wirelessly is. In order to connect to internet wirelessly, you need a network. Wired internet is different from wireless because there is a wire, and because to connect wirelessly you need a wireless router, while with wired, you only need a cable or DSL modem. Wired internet connection has been around for, well as long as the internet! The internet plug, called the 'Ethernet Cord" starts at your computer, then you connect it to modem, then to an Ethernet outlet. Internet is usually provided by your television company, but isn't always. Most laptops and all desktops can connect wired. I think personally that wireless internet is easier, since there aren't as many wires, and because it was easier to set up.
